Update: Thanks for everyones feedback. Personified is now available in our store.
We need your help!
We have developed javascript and liquid code that allows you to display and capture additional product attributes on the Shopify product.liquid and/or the cart.liquid pages. These attributes are carried through to the order and can be embedded in notification emails. This code has been refined by us over the years and used in many sites, and is now very robust and flexible.
If there is enough interest, we would like to offer this as a product and invest the time to document the code and methodology thoroughly. If this sounds like something you’d like to see us offer, please contact us or leave a comment, and let us know:
1. How much you think would be a reasonable price to pay?
- < $10
- < $50
- < $100
2. What about jQuery? Currently this is required.
- It’s Ok, I can deal with making it work with the other libraries my theme uses.
- It should work with any other library.
- jWhat?!
3. Would an installation service be of interest (at say $50)?
Thanks!

Yes! I think around $50 is fair.
Being able to enter extra attributes on the product page would be really, really handy.
It seems like this might come in handy. $10 or less would be a reasonable price. I love jQuery! Probably could take care of installing it myself, but some folks might find that service useful.
Yes, I would pay for that, similar to how Themeforrest offers bits of code for under $15. I’m sure some would pay for the install, how much I dont know.
Yes, this would be handy. Price wise, <$50. Note sure if I would worry about other js libs – jQuery would be fine. And $50 for an install sounds v. reasonable.
Yes, I know I could definitely use it, however, I’d like to see it as a pull down menu. $50 installed seems to me to be a fair price.
I am dying for you to develop this! My shop (www.rubygram.com) is a gift/social expressions shop. I’m doing with jewelry/wine charms what florists do with flowers, and so need more personalization. My work-arounds are difficult and not fun.
So, in answer to your questions:
1. How much you think would be a reasonable price to pay?
< $50 ($25 is reasonable)2. What about jQuery?
jWhat?!3. Would an installation service be of interest (at say $50)?
Installation AND customization, yes. Just installation, no.Please make this add-on. It’s easy to outgrow the features offered by Shopify quickly, so any add-ons, apps and such are a real help.
Thanks!
I’m holding out using Shopify because there is no personalized product feature. So many products require more than just size and color. Keeping it reasonable at $20 or less for small startups would be nice.
